Over seventy people gathered at church on Sunday June 18, 2023 as we celebrated the 65th anniversary of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and the 35th anniversary of Emmanuel Lutheran Manor. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped with hosting this event. Special thank you to our guests from Redeemer and St. Philip's who participated in the readings. On June 27th we begin our return to in-person worship with outdoor services.
All the information you need about registering to attend in-person or links for joining us remotely are included on our "in-person" page. Pastor Jordan was ordained on December 14, 2020 and Emmanuel Lutheran Church is the first congregation he is serving.
Jordan is a lifelong Lutheran, spending time at five different congregations and at Camp Edgewood as his father, also a Lutheran pastor, served in different contexts. After working for ten years in the sports television industry, Jordan started studying at Wycliffe College in 2016 and then transferred to and graduated from Martin Luther University College in the fall of 2020. He married Carmen in 2010 and they have two daughters, Anitta and Eileen. They live in East York and enjoy exploring the different parks and trails around the city and beyond. Their pandemic time together has been spent camping, doing puzzles, enjoying Friday Pizza Night, and getting better at Mario Kart. Jordan is excited to begin his ministry at Emmanuel Lutheran Church and serving the Manor residents as well as the surrounding community. As Lent approaches and we seek ways to recognize this season while at home, here is an instructional website on how to make your own ashes.
